Prior to law school, she received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management at The University of Texas at Austin.

At South Texas, she is the President of the Hispanic Law Students Association, the secretary for the Tax Law Society, and a member of the Presidential Fellows Program. Laura also volunteers at the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Clinic at South Texas during tax season.

In her free time, she enjoys puzzles, reading, and being active outside.
