An attorney since 1996, Paul began his oil and gas career in 1998.

His extensive experience includes working as a land manager and as an in-house landman for both a Fortune 500 company and a privately held E&P company. In addition, Paul handled real estate transactions and right of way acquisitions. Having also worked as corporate counsel for a privately held company and a law firm, his experience is diverse but has been solely focused in the energy sector for over 25 years.

Paul has extensive experience in negotiating and drafting oil and gas agreements and real estate agreements. Paul’s roles have included: right of way acquisition agent/supervisor, attorney, landman and land manager. During his career, he has lived and worked in Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Midland, Anchorage, Tulsa and Houston. Paul has worked on projects in North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Gulf of Mexico (GOM) Exploration, Texas, Canada, China, Alaska, New Mexico and California.

He is a member of AAPL and BAPL. In addition, Paul served on two industry committees. A committee to draft the model form joint operating agreement (JOA) for Offshore GOM operations and a committee to draft a model form JOA for Bakken operations. Major projects include: drafting and negotiating several exploration agreements for large scale offshore GOM projects (2009 to 2014); drafting and negotiating a purchase and sale agreement (PSA) for the sale of China assets (2017); and drafting and negotiating several PSAs and related documents for a large scale divestiture project (2020 to 2024).

Paul was raised in western Oklahoma. He has called Texas home for nearly 25 years. Paul served as a volunteer board member for a Houston nonprofit organization for six years.
