He began his career in 2010 as a field landman, later rising to crew chief across major plays including the Eagle Ford Shale, Tuscaloosa Marine Shale, SCOOP and STACK, and the Permian and Delaware Basin. This valuable field experience supported his transition into legal practice, where he focused on complex title examination, lease analysis, and curative preparation as an examining title attorney.

Thomas later joined Noble Energy Inc. in-house, supporting lease and contract review, title analysis, and SOX compliance. He continued in this role with Chevron following its acquisition of Noble. His combination of practical insight and legal acumen has made him a trusted advisor in upstream oil and gas operations.

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Thomas is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University and the Texas A&M School of Law (formerly Texas Wesleyan School of Law).
